not always the
adrenaline-filled leap
on a zip wire or equivalent.
Sometimes
being fearless
is saying nothing
when the world
demands an opinion
being quiet
when the world
expects cries of outrage
being slow
when the world
requires hurried speed
being calm
when the world
is fraught with panic.
Often
being fearless
is not going along with
what the world asks for,
trusting the inner voice of
‘wait’, ‘let’s see’
‘do nothing’.
