I want to take it all in,
receive all,
hold nothing back.
I don’t want to see
only the beautiful,
the lovely, the nice.
I want it all,
the unpleasant, the dirty,
the mean and the unkind.
I want fullness, not partiality,
a heart bursting with delight,
gratitude and unrestrained joy,
and able to discern
truth from untruth,
generosity over stealing,
able to choose courage
in the face of fear.
I want fullness, not partiality,
to be able to receive it all
and smile as the Buddha smiled,
knowing it all,
seeing it all,
and being free from it all.
receive all,
hold nothing back.
I don’t want to see
only the beautiful,
the lovely, the nice.
I want it all,
the unpleasant, the dirty,
the mean and the unkind.
I want fullness, not partiality,
a heart bursting with delight,
gratitude and unrestrained joy,
and able to discern
truth from untruth,
generosity over stealing,
able to choose courage
in the face of fear.
I want fullness, not partiality,
to be able to receive it all
and smile as the Buddha smiled,
knowing it all,
seeing it all,
and being free from it all.
